2 cools Galaga plushies for retro decoration!

While doing some of my grocery in my local Walmart, I went to the electronics department and near the latest games for the current consoles (Such as the PS5, Xbox Series and Switch) a row containing mini arcade and other collectibles. At the bottom of the rack, I saw two Galaga plushies priced at 13.99$ each. Although a little pricey, I could not resist and bought both, being the last available in the rack.

A sequel to Galaxian, the game is mostly seen as an expansion over the 1979 game. You play as the Fighter, a white space ship against a crowd of aliens. At the top of them, there is 2 alien ship referred as “Bosses” who have the ability to catch your spaceship. However, if one of the Boss flies toward you with the kidnapped spaceship, it is possible to get it back if it is shot, allowing two ships to be stuck together for double shot.

This mini-series features the Fighter and the Boss as available plushies. Both are made of Polyester Fibres and is about 15 cm by 13 cm (6 by 5 inches). The carton box that holds the spaceship is shaped like an arcade machine (a nice touch!) According to the back of it, it was produced by Tastemaker, LLC. (Based in Netherlands), who are responsible for the current brand of Arcade1Up, a series of licensed arcade machine that is sold in various stores and warehouse around the world and are promoting Kickstarter project (As for 2021).

In Canada, they were distributed by RedPlanetGroup, a Canadian distributor of toys based in Quebec, with an office in Ontario. The texts on the carton box are also bilingual (a common trait for products sold in Canada).

If you need something retro on your couch or on your bed, these Galaga plushies will make nice touch!
