The Super NES port of Fighter’s History was developed and published by Data East for the North American and Japanese Market in 1994. The original arcade game was developed by Data East and released in 1993.
Clown is the first boss of the game. He is fought right before Karnov. Not much is known about him, besides being part of an unnamed circus and being a narcissist man. He is also known to have an attraction to young men, unintentionally scaring them away. His relation with Karnov is not explained, but since he is a boss character that is fought just before him, it is implied that he works for him. He is an agile fighter, using his acrobatic skills and tricks in a fighting.
To play as him, you must input the following sequence of buttons at the title screen. A sound will play if it was entered correctly: Right, Right, Up, Up, L, R. This cheat will also unlock Karnov.
Clown is a hybrid character, with 2 charge special move and 2 motion one. His famed “Pick a Card” projectile is probably one of the most memorable special moves in the game. He can also roll and strike its opponent. There is a second variation of that move that cause him to bounce on the head of his opponent instead. His Homing Head Stomp causes him to go high in the air and lands his hand on the opponent’s head.
Despite being a boss character, Clown can have a hard time against the CPU. He can’t perform combo that end with his Homing Head Stomp or his projectile as the CPU will be able to block from it. In specific circumstances, however, he can chain with his Spin Attack. His air move has high priority which can help me perform cross-up combo. Clown mainly relies on this and his throw move, which can be followed by his projectile as the opponent is about to get up. His weak punch is also a 2 hit move that can be cancelled before the second strike, which allows him to hit as much a five time with his basic weak punch. Character with a weak point at the head and body area are vulnerable.
