Sonya Playthrough
Like Kano, Sonya was freed after Shao Khan first defeat. Jax is the one who is responsible for this and the two unite in order to convince the Special Force. Seeing that they won’t do a move before having proof, Sonya unites with the EarthRealm representants to stop Shao Khan.
Sonya has many arsenals in her move sets. He Energy Rings can push opponents away and her Wave Punch is an excellent anti-air. The diagonal Bicycle Kick can catch airborne opponents that are about to do their move as well. Her leg throw, like in MK1, is considered her strong move because of how fast she can do it as well as going through most basic move. She also has a high assortment of combo that is suited to many different situations.
Against the CPU, Sonya doesn’t have many options. Her Bicycle Kick and her Energy Rings are too slow and will be countered by her opponent, especially later in the tower. It is also very hard, if not impossible to mix combo with special move unless you get them in the corner. In short, Sonya has to rely on basic move, particularly her roundhouse kick. However, well placed Square Punch and Leg Throw can be useful against jumping and running opponent, respectively.
