Johnny Cage Playthrough

Johnny Cage is introduced as a movie actor, mostly in action movie involving hand-to-hand combat. In the Mortal Kombat lore, he is mostly known as a not so serious and more careless fighter, but is aware of the danger ahead.

Cage has three special moves in the game. His Green Bolt is his projectile, being able to throw it relatively fast. He also has his shadow kick, which consists of sliding toward his opponent and kick them in the process. His last special move is his ball breaker move, which doesn’t work against Sonya, but also doesn’t work against himself. Although a simple oversight, this has brought some ridicule to the character.

Cage’s fatality is censored in this version. His censored fatality involves performing a shadow kick that uppercut his opponent, and is executed with the same button input than the arcade original. His original fatality is also present with the Blood Cheat.

Cage is strong against the CPU. His move is fast, and his air move has priority over most moves. His projectile is also fast as well as his uppercut. In the Game Gear version, it is possible with precise timing to space the Shadow Kick over and over against the CPU.
