In MK2, Scorpion, like the other ninja character, all have a new costume design that they share by having different colours.
He stays with his Spear and his Teleport Punch. For the latter, he can now perform it in the air. Scorpion is also one of the few characters with an air throw. If close to an airborne opponent, he will be able to throw him with the same animation as his regular one. He also gains a unique move which consists to catch his opponent with his leg and dropping them on the ground.
Like with Sub-Zero, Scorpion will need to be precise in order to perform his special move at the right time. The CPU will evade or block his spear unless they are caught in the air or during an animation recovery. His roundhouse kick is also very fast, allowing him to hit his opponent twice and even three times before he can fall down, but must be done in a corner. He shares that trait with Reptile and Sub-Zero, since they share the same base character. It is also an excellent anti-air. His teleport punch and his scissor kick are technique that are rarely used dues to the CPU being able to counter it in many circumstances. In the former case, however, it can be used to escape as far away from it as possible.
