The Playstation version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy was developed and published by Midway Games (in North America and Europe) in 1996 for the North American and European market and in 1998 for the Japanese market.
Sonya is identical to her Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 form. She doesn’t gain any new move or animation.
Sonya has many arsenals in her move sets. He Energy Rings can push opponent away and her Wave Punch is an excellent anti-air. The diagonal Bicycle Kick can catch airborne opponent that are about to do their move as well. Her leg throw, like in MK1, is considered her strong move because of how fast she can do it as well as going through most basic move. She also has a high assortment of combo that are suited to many different situations.
Against the CPU, Sonya doesn’t have many options. Her Bicycle Kick and her Energy Rings are too slow and will be countered by her opponent, especially later in the tower. It is also very hard, if not impossible to mix combo with special move unless you get them in the corner. In short, Sonya has to relies on combo that are started with a jump punch or a neutral jump kick. However, well placed Square Punch and Leg Throw can be useful against jumping and running opponent, respectively.
