MK1 Rayden Playthrough

MK1 Rayden (sometimes referred as Klassic Rayden) is a secret character that is playable by selection Rayden’s icon and pressing select. He is a tweaked version of his MK1 using the same sprite, with the addition of new one to accommodate fatality that requires it. He doesn’t have any voice samples from the first game, including his two unique yells when doing the Torpedo move. Instead, he takes all these from Rayden. He can now do his Torpedo in the air (which was not possible in MK1) and has 2 new combos. He also gains a Babality, a Brutality and a Stage Fatality input (since in MK1, the Pit fatality’s requirement is simply an uppercut).

MK1 Rayden is rather simple to play. He has his projectile (that is pretty fast), his Torpedo move (that he can do in the air) as well as his teleport. The addition of his combo (especially the one that cause the opponent to be in the air) allow him to do combination with his special moves.

MK1 Rayden can do well against the CPU. Like with Rayden, there is a bug with how the CPU deal with the Torpedo move. If they crouch and he lands behind them, it is possible for MK1 Rayden t o throw them without trouble. This can be abused all the way until you get to the Mega Endurance. You can also catch them off guard by doing an Air Torpedo. Most of the time, however, he will rely on combos that are started with a jump punch.
