MK2 Jax playthrough

MK2 Jax (sometimes referred as Klassic Jax) is a secret character that is playable by selection Kano’s icon and pressing select. He is a tweaked version of his MK1 using the same sprite, with the addition of new one to accommodate fatality that requires it. He doesn’t have any voice samples from the second game. Instead, he takes all these from Jax.

MK2 Jax keep all his move he had in MK2. His Energy Wave is fast and his Backbreaker is a great anti-air. He keeps his Gotcha Grab, which can hit up to five times. His Ground Slam is good to use when the opponent just got a knockout. Finally, he gains the ability they throw his Energy Wave while in the air. His throw has kept its special property from MK2 if HP is tapped repeatedly (up to four times). He gains two new and powerful combo that sends his opponent far from him, but they are rather hard to execute.

MK2 Jax has more than the necessary arsenal to deal with the CPU. Most of the time, he will catch the CPU if he throws his Energy Wave fast enough. His air version of the move can also be used to avoid being hit, since he floats for a second in the air. His throw, when done up to four times, does massive damage and is essential at the beginning of the game. Both of his combo can be followed by a projectile, since his opponent far from him. Backbreaker can come handy when the CPU jumps but doesn’t perform a move right at the beginning. His Gotcha Grab is not used often, but can be useful against the bosses. Lastly, his Ground Slam is his less used move, since the CPU know how to evade it.

As a side note, his throw will cause his opponent to use its hurt voice sample of the current character as well as the one Jax and MK2 Jax use at the same time. This is especially strange to see this against female character, Sheeva or the cyborgs.
