MK2 Kung Lao playthrough

MK2 Kung Lao (sometimes referred as Klassic Kung Lao Kung Lao) is a secret character that is playable by selection Kano’s icon and pressing select. He is a tweaked version of his MK1 using the same sprite, with the addition of new one to accommodate fatality that requires it. He doesn’t have any voice samples from the second, including his unique voice sample when he performs a throw. Instead, he takes all these from Kung Lao. He can now do a Torpedo like Rayden and can do it in the air as well. He also gains 2 combos.

MK2 Kung Lao keep all his move from MK2. His Hat Throw is his regular projectile and work well from far. He also has his teleport move that cause him to appear on the other side and can be used as a combo starter (as the game allow him to perform a jump punch or kick before landing). His Dive Kick is intact and is excellent for air juggles. Finally, his broken Shield Spin is back, but slower to execute. His new move, the Torpedo, work exactly like’s Rayden one. He gains 2 new combos, and one of them cause his opponent to be launch.

Like with his regular version, MK2 Kung Lao is very powerful. As soon as he performs his launch combo or hit his opponent with the Shield Spin, he can start of juggles with jump kicks, standing punch and dive kick, finishing with a roundhouse kick when on the corner or with the torpedo. His teleport move is not used often because the CPU will often uppercut him before he can land. His kick combo is not used often, but is damaging. Unlike with Rayden, his Torpedo doesn’t cause the CPU’s AI to stay crouched until thrown.
