Madden NFL ’94 featured 16-bit graphics, typical of the SNES era, with detailed player sprites and football stadiums. The game utilized an isometric perspective, providing a unique view of the field. The presentation included a vibrant color palette and smooth animations.

The game featured all the NFL teams of the time, along with their respective rosters and player ratings. It also features extra teams in the forms of vintage or All-Stars variant of each of the NFL teams of the current year. Although the player names weren’t officially licensed due to NFL restrictions, they closely resembled real NFL players. It allowed gamers to choose their favorite team and compete against others in single-player or multiplayer modes.
