Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Super NES) – Kano

Kano playthrough

Kano stay mostly the same as in MK3, while gaining advantage of using combo started from the air combo.

Kano is quite versatile. He has his Sword Toss projectile that is slow but do slightly more damage than a regular projectile. His Slice Uppercut is very fast and can be used as a combo under. His famed Ball Roll move has a variation that will cause Kano to go diagonally up to catch airborne opponents. Kano can also use his Violent Grab move, shaking his opponent and taking some health after each shake. Finally, he is able to do an air throw that push the opponent down.

Kano needs to have precise timing to do his big combo, as the CPU seems to be aware of these attempts and will often counter. This is particularly true to his Slice Uppercut and his Violent Grab move. His Ball Roll and its variation can be used to counter other special moves (such as Liu Kang’s Bicycle Kick). One good way to start his chain of move is to use his combo that causes his opponent to be uppercut in the air, chaining other moves such as the Upwards Ball Roll or the Violent Grab close to the corner.
